Slaying Green Dragons on runescape has been an easy way for many players to make money for as long as I can remember. However, there are risks involved and namely the fact that pkers will often hang about the area looking to pick off some easy targets - so always be aware of who is lurking nearby.

A basic inventory and equipment check for slaying green dragons is:

• Glory Amulet
• Anti Fire shield
• Rune/Dragon Legs
• Black Dragon Top
• Dragon scimitar/Longsword or Abyssal Whip
• Boots of lightness
• Gauntlets (cooking/chaos)
• 6 lobbs per trip (keeping bones and hides)

This should see players able to survive the Green Dragons - but does risk running into pkers in the wilderness. The suggested equipment or inventory is not set in stone, but it is best to always consider how much you can afford to replace if you do end up being pked.

Players will be able to bank both the green dragon hides and the dragon bones at Edgeville bank or a bank of their choice. It can quickly add up to large amounts of money and can be used by players to train either their mage, melee or range skills depending on their preference.

All runescape players should note that market prices of items can change and this can affect the potential profit gained from slaying green dragons. However, the price variance is small compared to other methods and if lucky to avoid being pked, then this can quickly raise millions of runescape money easily.

F2P Mining and Money Making

Mining on runescape is an essential skill for most people to have if they are on free to play (f2p) servers. Mining for ores will take a lot of time, but will be worthwhile whenever a player is able to sell a bulk amount of ores for cash.

When I mean sell for cash I mean selling to other runescape players for runescape money and not real world trading - as real world trading is against Jagex rules.

Some basic mining tips on how to make money in runescape when on free to play servers:

• Essence - Level 1 mining - It is easily mined and can sell for a decent price to people who are runecrafting and making any of the basic 6 types of rune. Price may be up to 30gp each.
  
• Iron Ores - Level 15 mining - These can be mined quickly and will normally sell between 50gp - 100gp price range.
• Silver - Level 20 mining - Silver can be mined at the crafting guild and will normally sell for around 200gp each to people who are trying to raise their crafting skill.
• Coal - Level 30 mining - Coal is always in demand and can fetch up to 200gp each in bulk, although any price from 140 - 200gp range is normally considered decent enough.

Players on runescape free to play servers can also make money by collecting cow hides, air running or via woodcutting. Obviously there are many ways to make money and it is finding a method that you enjoy and are happy to do for long periods at a time that will help build up your reserve of runescape gold.

Runescape Cow Hides

Collecting cow hides in runescape is an easy way of making money for both free to play and runescape members. The method of making money will normally depend on the person collecting the hides.

There are generally three basic methods to make money in runescape through cow hides:

• Merchant cow hides
• Collect them yourself
• A combination of both of the above

Merchanting Cow Hides:
Many low level players will normally collect up an inventory of cow hides and want a good price for them - they will generally not be able to get a good price and consequently sell cheap. Players can buy up these smaller quantities of cow hides from many different sources and sell their stockpile to another player who is training their crafting skill. In effect, you will be merchanting cow hides.

Collect the yourself:
This is very obvious - instead of buying the cow hides from other players you will simply fight the cows and stockpile them on your own. This is obviously a more time consuming method but you will be training your combat in runescape at the same time. This can help you make money and improve your overall levels.

A combination of both methods:
The smartest way to make money in runescape with using cow hides is to combine both of the first two methods. To effectively do this, when you are training your combat at the cow field (normally lumbridge), ask other players if they will sell their cow hides to you for a set price. Obviously the price can be negotiated by you but it will have to be lower than the price you intend selling.

Collecting the hides yourself will help improve your combat and asking others to sell their hides to you will help you establish a chain of suppliers. This means you should already have a buyer lined up and that you should have sufficient money available to always pay your suppliers. After all, a happy worker is a healthy worker that will continue to work for you and continue to make profit for you as well as earn a decent income themselves.

Overall, one key thing to note is the prices of items (07 runescape price guide or checking the grand exchange in EoC runescaoe), specifically cow hides in this case. The price is generally stable - but it can vary from buyer to buyer, so it is in your best interest to line up more than one buyer to be able to sell large quantities when you want and not have to wait for that one person to log on to buy. This increases your buying power and can enable you to hire much more workers and stockpile cow hides at a much faster rate. Ultimately improving your overall profit level.

Runescape Air Running

Air running in runescape is a good way for low level players to make money without the need of any particular skills. The main requirement is that a player has the time and dedication to constantly run air runes to and from Falador bank.

As stated, no skill is required for this method of making money in runescape, but patience is certainly a virtue to have. Air runes are not as profitable as law or nature runes, but free to play runescape people can use this method equally as effective as runescape members.

There are two groups of people required to Air Run:

• Runecrafters
• Essence Runners

Runecrafters with higher runecrafting levels will be in a much better situation than crafters with low levels. It is generally suggested that runecrafters have level 44 runecrafting in order to get 5 air runes per essence.

Essence runners, there are no skill requirements needed whatsoever and this is what I referred to when there were no skill requirements to make money. It is the running that is required and this can be done by any player whether free to play or a runescape member.

Runecrafters will normally be required to pay the air runners directly in cash, this normally ranges from 1,500gp to 2,000gp per trade. The crafter will be able to offset the cost of training somewhat by selling the air runes produced. It therefore makes sense to have at least level 44 runecrafting.

Runecrafters inventory should be:

• Noted essence (25 noted traded per time)
• Money
• 25 un-noted essence (or 25 air runes).

Air runners will normally need to bring 25 un-noted rune essence to the Air Altar and exchange it for 25 noted essence + 2,000gp (or whatever coin level has been agreed). Runners should also have an air tiara so that they can trade inside the air altar itself. This helps improve the efficiency for the runecrafters.

Runescape Money via Woodcutting

Runescape offers various different trees to cut down and enable players to make money from. Members have more types of trees available to them than non-members and more profit can be made - especially with Magic Logs that generally sell for 900 -1100gps each.

However, non-members can easily earn significant amounts of money from cutting yew logs, oak logs or normal logs. Although it is more limiting and in some cases will require more patience as buyers for normal logs or oak logs may be in shorter supply, while Yew log buyers may not pay premium prices to non-members.

In general, when selling logs in runescape, players must focus on the quantity available. Most players will pay premium prices for significant quantities if they are trying to achieve a skill level quickly. Members will buy logs for firemaking, fletching and construction skills while non-members will buy only for firemaking. In which case they will normally look at using their own logs that they cut when training their woodcutting skill.

The target market is therefore members who are training either fletching or construction skills. For fletching, Yew logs will be desired more while players training their construction skill will favour oak logs.

To effectively collect up large quantities of either Yew logs of Oak logs, players will need to find the relevant trees close to a bank. Time is money, and the closer the trees are to a bank, the better. Some of the better locations for training woodcutting (and consequently stockpiling logs) are:

Free to play:

• Oak Trees - East of Draynor bank
• Yew Trees - 3 north of Varrock Palace

Members:

• Oak Trees - West of Catherby bank
• Maple Trees - North of Seers Bank
• Yew Trees - West of Catherby bank - below the beehives.
• Teak/Mahogany - can be collect via your own kingdom in Miscellania

In addition to this, members will also have a chance to get seeds from bird nests. Seed prices have dropped a bit since farming was released, although some seeds can still receive good prices - yew seed, magic seed and some of the other tree seeds.

Overall, woodcutting in runescape does have some methods to make money for people in the game and it has been a skill used by many players to earn significant wealth over time. Runescape Money Tips Within Jagex Rules

As most runescape players are all too familiar with the temptations of buying runescape money either through online websites or auction sites, I would like to remind everyone that this is in breach of Jagex Rules.

Rule 12 clearly states that real world items cannot be traded for runescape items, including money.

With this said, I have also changed my search for this money tips blog from the original runescape community search to the new google offering for community searching, my very own runescape search engine if you like - although Google still hold overall control of all the propriety technology.

My aims with the search engine are to include all runescape fan sites that stay within Jagex rules so that the whole runescape community can safely search and find answers to their queries without being tricked into visiting a site that breaches any runescape rule. The previous search used did enable me to exclude existing sites, but there were so many already indexed it would have been too ominous a task to remove sites for every conceivable search query. Having the control from the outset to be able to add sites is a much better approach as it should lead to much higher quality results.

Big Bones on Free to Play

It is commonly accepted that free to play in Runescape offers less methods of making some serious money. One option that can be useful as you train your melee is collecting big bones from hill giants.

If you manage to collect a significant amount of big bones then you can sell them in bulk for 300gp each. There are quicker methods to making money, although this way you are able to train your melee stats and increase your chances of gaining wealth via the wilderness.

The hill giants are located in Edgeville Dungeon - or can be accessed near the Cook's guild if you have a bronze key to unlock the doors. It is a popular area and can often become crowded although it is worth it given the limited options available.

Oak Logs and Iron Ore

In free to play Runescape there are limited methods to make decent amounts of income. However, Iron Ore mining has been a longstanding guaranteed money earner for all those free to play players. The price of Iron Ore has increased over time and now players can easily expect to receive 100gp for each ore provided they have a decent quantity (normally 1000+ ores).

A relative newcomer for free to play players is cutting Oak Logs. This is primarily due to the introduction of the Construction Skill as the demand for Oak Logs has increased significantly. My advice is earn the money now while the demand is there as overall demand has now settled down and in the long term will start to decrease as less people need to raise their construction.

Overall, the traditional Iron Ore mining will always have a good steady demand as Iron is a necessary resource for the production of Steel bars. Additionally, the price of Coal has also increased in price and a dedicated miner can reap good rewards as they can sell at 200gp each when selling in bulk.

Pure Essence Running

Although running essence used to be pretty lucrative for all members on RuneScape, since the introduction of pure essence it has decreased in the number of people who run essence for runecrafters.

The affect of the higher priced pure essence means there are less people concentrating on raising up their runecrafting level and consequently there are less people who continually run the essence for them.

The main place for people who wish to make money via essence running is still on world 66. The price of laws are still the same, but due to the reduced number of runecrafters, the length of time the runners may wait is likely to have increased.

There is still plenty of opportunity for low level players to still make a decent income per hour, provided they have patience and if they manage to get on at a time when there are relatively low numbers of runners to crafters ratio.

Overall, this should not be dismissed as a perfectly viable method of making money in runescape as there are still a large number of players looking to increase their runecrafting skill - albeit many may now invest some of their cash in player owned houses or other skills.

Wine of Zamorak

Although Herblore is a member only skill on RuneScape, players that are non-members can still help out and make some money by collecting up Wine of Zamorak. The wine can fetch 1000gp each and is relatively easy to collect, provided you have an ample supply of telegrab runes and the required magic level to cast telegrab.



The picture above is me casting the telegrab spell on the Zamorak Wine at the Chaos Altar on the far west side of the wilderness, basically north from Falador will get you there.

Players who wish to collect the Wine of Zamorak would be best advised to do so after they had secured an order - since this will not be the easiest resource to shift, although it can be highly profitable for players who do secure large, or regular orders.

If you know any members who love their herblore and ranging skill, then they may be ideal candidates to propose collecting the Wine of Zamorak for as it is used primarily in herblore to make the ranging potion.

Establish a chain of suppliers

A good tip for earning money in the longer term is to establish a chain of suppliers of the raw material that you want to focus on.

If you have a lot of regular suppliers of any resources then you can quickly accumulate a bulk amount to be able to sell on and profit from.

This approach is especially helpful for all players that are wishing to get into merchanting as a means to increase their wealth on runescape. Generally, the more suppliers you have, the less liklihood that you will ever run out of being able to supply people the raw materials they demand. This makes it easy for you to sell quickly and therefore making a quicker profit.

Wealth from the Wilderness

There are many aspects of the wilderness in Runescape and one of the most appealing is certainly player versus player battles. It can be a way to earn significant riches, but at the same time can end up bankrupting you quickly.

If everything was equal, and you could always rely solely on one vs one battles then there would be a lot less risks involved but the payoff would likely also decrease proportionately as risk declined. This is where player judgement comes into the reckoning and although great amounts of money can be made, if you make a bad decision it can end up being very costly.

Players who PK regularly will normally have had their good days and their bad days. On good days they may gain items worth millions, but on bad days could lose even more. The reason why there are such huge risks associated with earning wealth via PK is there are so many variables:

1. Timing - Runescape is open 24/7 and has players from all parts of the world playing. Subsequently, clans are also globally based and with so many clans in the game, the chances are you may run into a clan at any time.

2. Equipment Choice - There are 3 basic classes of player in Runescape - Mage, Warrior and Ranger. The wrong choice of class to venture into the wilderness could well seal your fate.

3. Food - different food heals different amounts of hitpoints and having a lower healing food could make the difference to winning and losing close battles.

These are just 3 of the many factors that determine how successful you are as a Pker on Runescape. One person cannot always outfox a group and as such many players prefer to PK as a group along with their friends and their clan. Again, this is not a guarantee that you will fair any better as your clan could run into a larger clan and quickly get wiped out before knowing what is happening.

The key to being a successful Pker is quite simple, always be alert, always be prepared and always assess situations before making rash decisions that can cost you and your friends a significant loss. Additionally, you should always follow the number one rule - Never take anything into the wilderness that you cannot afford to replace. Failure to abide by that rule is a sure sign that success in the wilderness will forever elude you.

Runescape Money - Wealth by Skills

In Runescape one of the main objectives for most people is to try and gain as much virtual wealth as possible. This seems to encourage a lot of fraudsters and does lead to many people being banned by Jagex for breaking the rules.

People are 100% aware that trading real life money for Runescape Money is against Jagex rules but that does not discourage many people, they still try to beat the system. There is no true substitute for shear hard work within the game while playing within the game rules.

Runescape offers many ways to make money, some require more effort than others. The aim of this section will be to compile all methods of money making within the game and use it as a resource for gathering information. By participating in this, you are helping other players who wish to get ahead in the game, but at the same time play by the rules Jagex enforce.
